OUR PURPOSE

For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ: – Ephesians 4:12

What we Believe

THE BIBLE

We believe the Holy Scriptures of the Old and New Testament to be verbally inspired by God and inerrant in the original writings and, therefore, that they are of supreme and final authority for faith and life. The sixty-six books of the Old and New Testament are the complete and divine revelation of God to Man. The Scriptures shall be interpreted ac-cording to their normal grammatical-historical meaning. 2 Timothy 3:16; 2 Peter 1:20-21

The authorized King James Version, being a faithful and accurate translation of reliable texts, shall be the translation used in the preaching and teaching of the Scriptures and is recommended to the members for personal study and devotion.

THE TRUE GOD

We believe that there is one, and only one,  living and true God, and Infinite, Intelligent Spirit,         whose name is Jehovah, the Maker and Supreme Ruler of Heaven and Earth; inexpressibly  glorious in holiness and worthy of all possible honor, confidence, and love; that the One God is manifested in three persons, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, equal in every divine attribute and  perfection, and executing distinct but harmonious office in all His works. Ex. 15:11;
John 4:24; Matt. 28:19; Mark 12:30

CONCERNING CHRIST

Deity: We believe in the Deity and true sinless humanity of our Lord Jesus Christ. He was born of a virgin, conceived of the Holy Spirit, and is therefore God manifest in human flesh. John 1:1; 10:30; Luke 1:35; Philip. 2:6-7

Crucifixion and Resurrection: We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures; and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day as the substitutionary Sacrifice for all sinners; and that all who believe in Him are redeemed and justified on the grounds of His shed blood. Rom. 5:9; 1 Cor. 15:3-4;Eph. 1:7; 1 Peter 1:3-5; 2:24

Ascension: We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ ascended to Heaven and is now exalted at the right hand of God where, as our High Priest, He fulfills the ministry of Representative, Intercessor, and Advocate. Acts 1:9-10; Rom. 8:34; Heb. 7:25; 9:24; 1 John 2:1-2

THE HOLY SPIRIT

We believe in the personality and Deity of the Holy Spirit, the third Person of the Triune God-head. Acts 5:3-4; 1 Cor. 6:11; Heb. 9:14

Works of the Holy Spirit:

Toward the unregenerate world: The Holy Spirit reproves men of their sin and points them to Christ as Saviour. Gen 6:3; John 16:7-11

In salvation: He is the active agent in regeneration who indwells the believer and baptizes him into the body of Christ (the universal church) at the moment of salvation. John 3:5; 1 Cor. 6:19; 12:13

In the Christian: The Holy Spirit acts as a Guide, an Illuminator of the Scriptures, an Aid in Spiritual infirmities, a Power to mortify the deeds of the flesh, an Authority for witness, and an Imparter of gifts for service, Who is able to control the believer in all aspects of the Christian life. Acts 1:8; Rom. 8:13,14,26; 1 Cor. 2:10,13; 12:7; 5:18

In the Church: He is the Unifier of the body of Christ, in doctrine and worship, the Revealer of Christ to the church through the Scriptures, and the Leader into all truth. John 4:24; 15:26; 16:13; Eph. 1:17; 4:4-6

Sign Gifts of the Holy Spirit:

For the Church: The sign gifts of the Holy Spirit, which are tongues, interpretation of tongues, miracles, healing, and prophecy, were given temporarily to people in the early church to confirm the truth of the Gospel prior to the completion of the New Testament Scriptures and are thus neither necessary nor operative in the Church at the present time. However, while the sign gifts are no longer functioning to authenticate the message and messengers of the New Testament, we do believe God heals and performs miracles according to His own Sovereign will. 3:16-30;                       1 Cor. 13:8-10; 2 Cor. 12:7-10; 1 John 5:14

For the Apostles: We believe the office of Apostle and the special sign gifts associated with that office ended with the death of the last Apostle, John. Acts 5:12, 14:8-10; 16:16-18; 19:11-12; 20:6-12; 28:1-10; Rom. 15:19; 2 Cor. 12:12; Heb. 2:3-4

CREATION

We believe that God created the universe in six literal, 24-hour periods. We reject evolution, the Gap Theory, the Day-Age Theory, and Theistic Evolution as unscriptural theories of origin. Gen. chs. 1-2; Ex. 20:11

THE CREATION OF MAN AND HIS FALL

We believe that God created man in His own image and that man came into the world by the direct creation of God and not by the process of evolution. We believe man was created in innocence but that in Adam’s sin the human race fell, inherited a sinful nature and became alienated from God. Man is totally depraved and, of himself, utterly unable to remedy his lost condition. Because of this, all mankind are now sinners by birth and then by choice and are therefore under just condemnation to eternal punishment with defense or excuse. Gen. 1:26-27; 2:7; 3:6-24; Is. 53:6; Matt. 25:46; Rom. 3:22-23; 5:12, 6:23, Eph. 2:1-3; 4:17-19

SALVATION

We believe that salvation is the gift of God brought to man by grace and received by personal faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, Whose precious blood was shed on Calvary for the forgiveness of sins. This work of salvation, regeneration, new birth, is the work of the Holy Spirit in the heart of a sinner for that person to become a child of God. Its evidence is seen in a changed life, such as repentance, faith, communion with God, union and love of the brethren, and witnessing to the lost. We deny any doctrine which teaches that God predestinated certain ones to eternal damnation. Matt. 28:19-20; John 1:12; 2 Cor. 5:17; Eph. 1:7, 2:8-10; Titus 3:4; 1 Peter 1:18-19; 1 John 1:9

SANCTIFICATION

Position in Heaven: We believe sanctification is the standing of the Christian before God in holiness. At the time of salvation, God separates the believer from his sin and separates him unto God’s family and service for all eternity. It is a completed action of God whereby He grants to Christians all the blessings Christ has accomplished for us and makes us saints of God.  1 Cor. 1:2,30; 6:11; Eph. 1:1; Philip. 1:1; Col. 1:2; Heb. 3:1; 10:10; 13:12; 1 Peter 1:2

Practical on Earth: We also believe sanctification is progressive and continual in the daily life of a Christian. This is the process the Holy Spirit uses to cause Christians to grow in spiritual maturity and become conformed more and more to the image of Christ. It refers to the Christian’s state, how the Christian is doing moment by moment, in relation to living in Christ’s victory over the world, the flesh and the devil. It also refers to the Christian’s degree of separation from sin and dedication to God in our daily living. Through this process of learning how to depend on the Holy Spirit and the truths of God’s Word in order to live a holy life, we become more saintly, more Christ-like, in character and conduct in every area and responsibility of life.

SECURITY OF THE SAINTS

We believe in the preservation of the saints, who are kept by the power of God through faith unto eternal salvation. Philip. 1:6; 1 Peter 1:5

THE CHURCH

The Universal Church: The universal Church is the corporate body of all believers in Christ as Saviour, beginning at Pentecost (Acts 2) and extending to the Rapture, exclusive of all denominations and ecclesiastical systems of human origin. 1 Cor. 12:13; Eph. 4:4-6

The Local Church: We believe that a true local church is an assembly of born again baptized believers, associated by covenant in the faith, and fellowship of the Gospel, observing the ordinances of Christ, governed by His laws, and exercising the gifts, rights and privileges invested in them by His Word. We believe in the autonomy of the local church free of any external authority or control. Acts 2:41-42; 13:1-4; 15:19-31; 20:28; Rom. 16:1; 1 Cor. 3:9; 5:4-7,13; 11:2,16; 1 Peter 5:1-4

The Role of the Local Church: The local church is God’s appointed New Testament agency for Christian worship, instruction, service, and missionary endeavor. Acts 13:1-4; Eph. 4:11-16; 1 Tim. 3:15

The Ordinances of the Local Church:

Baptism: We believe that Christian Baptism is the immersion in water of a believer; in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit; to show forth, in a solemn and beautiful emblem, our faith in the crucified, buried, and risen Saviour, with its typology (pattern) of being (1) our death to sin and (2) resurrection to a new life. Acts 8:26-40; Rom. 6:3-6

The Lord’s Supper: We believe the Lord’s Supper is administered by the pastor and deacons and observed by individual believers, by the sacred use of bread and the cup to commemorate together the substitutionary death of Christ till He come; preceded always by solemn self-examination. 1 Cor. 11:26-28

ESCHATOLOGY

The Rapture: We believe in the imminent, pre-tribulation Rapture of the saved, living and dead, when the Lord Himself shall descend from Heaven to catch up His Church (the Bride of Christ) to meet Him in the air. We believe that the souls of the redeemed are, at death, absent from the body and present with the Lord, where in conscious bliss they await the first resurrection, when spirit, soul, and body are reunited to be glorified forever with the Lord. Luke 23:43, 2 Cor. 5:8; Philip. 1:23-24; 3:21; 1 Thes. 4:13-17; 1 John 2:17

The Tribulation: We believe that the Seven Year Tribulation is for Israel when God will chasten and purify His Old Testament people to bring them to repentance and faith in Christ. Jer. 30:7; Dan. 9:24-27; Zech. 12:10; 13:8-9 All living unbelievers after the Rapture shall enter this Tribulation with Israel. 2 Thes. 2:8-12

The Second Advent: Following the Seven Year Tribulation, the Lord Jesus Christ shall return visibly and bodily to the earth with His saints for judgment upon the nations and to institute His Thousand Year Reign. 12:10-13; 14:4-11; Matt. 24:29-30; Luke 21:25-28: 1 Thes. 1:10; Titus 2:13; Rev. 19:11-16; 20:-16

The Final Judgment: Following the Thousand Year Reign shall be the Great White Throne Judgment at which all the unbelieving dead of all ages shall be resurrected, judged, and forever separated from the Lord in eternal, conscious, physical torment in the Lake of Fire with the Devil and his demons. Matt. 25:46; John 5:28-29; Rev. 20:11-15

The New Heavens and New Earth: Following the final judgment, the Lord shall create new heavens and a new earth wherein dwelleth righteousness which shall be the eternal abode of conscious joy for the Saved. Is. 65:17; 2 Peter 3:13; Rev. 21:1-8

MISSIONS

We believe that God has given the church a great commission to proclaim the Gospel to all nations so that there might be a great multitude from every nation, tribe, ethnic group, and language group who believe on the Lord Jesus Christ. As ambassadors of Christ we must use all available means to take the Gospel to our Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria and the uttermost part of the world. Matt. 24:14; 28:19-20; Mark 13:10; 16:15; Luke 24:26-28; John 20:21; Acts 1:8; 2 Cor. 5:20
